1.Who We Are

Alpha PetCare is the trading name of Alpha Pet Care, a sole proprietorship registered in Sri Lanka under business registration number 260327025. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use www.alphapetcare.lk, how we use it, and the choices you have. We are the controller of the personal information described here.

This policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions.

2.Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to process and deliver your orders. Checkout is available as a guest, so no account is required.

  • Order & contact details– your name, delivery address, phone number, and email address.
  • Order information– the products you order, order value, and your chosen payment method.
  • Payment information– when you pay online by card, your card details are entered directly with our payment gateway (Geany). We never see or store your full card number, CVV, or PIN.
  • Technical information– basic data your browser sends automatically (such as IP address and device/browser type), handled by our hosting and security provider to keep the site running and protected.
  • Advertising & analytics data– through the Meta (Facebook) Pixel we collect how you browse the store (pages and products viewed, items added to cart, checkout, and completed purchases) along with Meta cookie identifiers (“_fbp” and “_fbc”) and your IP address and browser type. We use this to measure and improve our Facebook and Instagram advertising.

We do not collect special-category data, and we do not ask for information we do not need to fulfil your order.

3.How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to:

  • Process, confirm, and deliver your orders;
  • Send you transactional updates about your specific order (such as order confirmation and delivery status);
  • Handle refunds, returns, and customer-support enquiries;
  • Prevent fraud and keep the website secure;
  • Measure and improve our Facebook and Instagram advertising, using the Meta Pixel and Conversions API;
  • Comply with our legal and accounting obligations.

Aside from the advertising measurement described above, we do not use your information for marketing, and we do not send marketing emails or SMS.

4.How We Share Your Information

We share your information only with the third parties required to complete your order, and only to the extent needed:

  • Koombiyo(our courier partner) – receives your name, address, and phone number to deliver your order.
  • Geany(our payment gateway) – processes online card payments securely on our behalf.
  • Hosting & security providers– host the website and protect it against abuse.
  • Meta Platforms (Facebook & Instagram)– to measure our advertising, we share purchase and browsing events together with your IP address, browser type, and a one-way hashed (irreversible) form of your email and phone number. We never send your email or phone to Meta in plain text.

We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect our legal rights.

5.Cookies & Local Storage

We use essential and functional storage, for example to:

  • Remember the items in your shopping cart;
  • Remember that you have seen our cookie notice;
  • Keep the site secure and working correctly.

We also use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel for advertising measurement. It loads a script from connect.facebook.net and sets Meta cookies (“_fbp” and “_fbc”) to help us understand how our Facebook and Instagram ads perform. We do not use any other third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

You can clear or block this storage at any time through your browser settings, a content/ad blocker, or your device’s ad-tracking controls. Blocking the Meta cookies does not affect your ability to browse or place an order.

6.Data Retention

We keep order and contact information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the order, handle any returns or refunds, and meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

7.Data Security

The website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8.Your Rights

You may contact us at any time to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to correct inaccurate information, or to ask us to delete information we are not legally required to keep. We will respond within a reasonable time. To make a request, use the contact details below.

9.Children's Privacy

Our website is intended for use by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Orders should be placed by a person who is at least 18 years of age, or under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

10.Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
